So to set apprehension off the bat, this is not going to be an advanced post of Penguin theory, but rather what to look for in your Google Analytics and Google Webmaster Tools to observ where the drop appeared. This includes judgment of factors that I have seen, and how to check links that might be damage you.
We’ll compare what is Penguin, how to analyse a Penguin traffic drop, how to check the PageRank toolbar or Page Authority of links, how to check indexing of links quickly, and then give some overview strategies about how to approach different Penguin Strategy.

How to Analyze Penguin

As acknowledge above, Penguin manifests by default by targeting overly-advancing, anchor text, both outwardly and inwardly, exclusively over optimized anchors on low quality sites. We must be consus when analyze a Penguin click, though, because Google started no indexing free directories, especially directorys, in mid-May. When trying to diagnose a traffic  Falling down the following indicators should be looked at :

  • Does the Falling down in traffic accompany with one of the reported dates (so far April 24 and May 25)?

  • Is it a site-wide Falling down or does it seem to be keyword-specific?
  • Did you accept a notice in Webmaster Tools at a individual time that could intimate that it’s a penalty (as argue to an algorithm)?
The greatest way to check these is to first check in Analytics. I’m going to describe you how to do both of these. We are going to use some Excel Sheet to do this, but just easy focal point Tables and a few simple formulas that I will provide you.
